December 4, 2016 — Carlson family maternity Session
This was a typical December day in Washington. The sun was shinning and it was freezing. I had been pretty excited to finally see the Carlson family and photograph them in their wintery forest home. This family lives in a tiny house on the outskirts of Olympia, amidst a beautiful forest and the Nisqually river. Mama: Baylie, Papa bear: Bjorn, Big sister: Freyja, and soon-to-be Big brother: Ogden.
Despite the cold, this sweet duo, Freyja and Oggie, were very happy to wander through the bare woods with me. I loved capturing them together. One thing I love so much about this family, is how Bjorn looks at Baylie. I think it’s safe to say this family is deeply in love with one another and no exception for this little one on the way.
After a little family time, Baylie and I ventured off into the woods in search of the river and a secluded spot to strip down. Baylie wrapped up in blankets and cloth, brought out the most beautiful birthing winter goddess. We laughed and chatted about our bodies and beauty. We talked about her upcoming birth inside her tiny house, and all the things she needed to get ready. I could not help but wonder who this new human would be, when we would finally meet her, and how she would fit so perfectly into this family.
More of this families story and the meeting of their sweet birdy to come soon!
